Most funerals are. Unless you're like my family who is able to laugh at wakes and funerals, you're going to do a lot of sitting and moping.

I didn't like Persona 3 as much as 4. They fixed all the bugs and things I disliked from 3.
I'm listening to the CD that came with Catherine. It is absolutely awesome. It is a bunch of classical music remade for epic gaming into hard rock and metal with some of the original classic aspects of the songs. I shit bricks hearing it.

I love Persona 4. One of my top 5 favorite games. Though, like 3, I found the dungeons frustrating at times but they are significantly easier than in 3. The checkpoints are at every floor rather than every dozen floors or so and you have the ability to control the other character's battle decisions as well, unlike in 3 where they just did what they wanted. I have more control over the battles, which I prefer, and the story is many times better.
Haven't had a chance to play Catherine yet. What with my mom going into surgery and me getting food poisoning, it isn't exactly easy to sit still and play games. >_>

Well, I played it last night and came up with one reaction. That game is hard. The story seems interesting because you want to know where it goes with it, but the story itself starts off slow. The game throws you directly into the action immediately by entering the first nightmare after the game's intro. It's like trying to do something without knowing how to do it as someone is teaching you how it's done. It's not a bad thing, but it could be later on, and here's why:
To be honest, there's so much gameplay between each progression of the story. I felt that by the time I'm actually starting to get comfortable, the game thrusts me into more heart-pounding crap. The game is split up into days and when the day ends, Vincent goes to sleep and begins a nightmare which has three stages. These stages are TOUGH. The first throws something new into the mix, while the second uses that new thing ad nauseam. Then the third stage has some sort of boss creature that tried to kill Vincent as he climbs. Between each stage, there is a landing where you talk to sheep and buy items and save and stuff. The nightmare doesn't end until you escape the creature at stage 3. I gotta tell you, the first boss scared the everliving shit out of me, and not from a horror aspect. I was rushing, trying to get away from it and it just kept catching up, so I rush even more then I die in a spectacular manner. It offers some very tense moments.
Then there are the techniques. There are so many and they give you more than one at once, remembering them is difficult. By the time you realize you could have used a technique, it's already too late. Then you die, start over, use it, then realize that wasn't the right one. I also forget the basic techniques and try the tougher ones, but basic is always best.
I'm not very far into it, but I seem to be enjoying it enough to come back for more. But, I feel myself rushing through stages in order to reach the story, completely ignoring the nice things the stages have to offer, like items and the grade you get after completing them. I haven't gotten above silver and don't really care, since I beat a tough stage only to be forced into a tougher stage.
Well, that's it for now. There seems to be two endings, so I guess it warrants two playthroughs. The game seems kinda short. I think there are eight levels to the tower, so eight days. I am on day 3 already. Hopefully the game doesn't disappoint.
