Is there a place where I can switch back to.
Like if I wanted to go and earn some money, can I come back to Lohan to buy the three 10k Items?

It's a little late to answer this, but yes. You can return to any point in the game (except for a few choice ones like Helena Prison after the second visit and the Black Castle in Kazas). There is a point of no return on disk 4 and Dart will mention that you will not be allowed to return when you pass that point.

I know, especially 00Parts, who would kill off one of my characters and just run... frustrating.

Yeah, I quickly gave up fighting those creatures. Killed one of each just to see, but it was never worth the time.
